Following all protocols against Covid-19, this first stage was composed of workshops given by the CIR departments of Territorial and Environmental Management (DGTA) that dealt with Sustainability, the Project Department that taught a workshop on how to build projects, the Communication Department, which carried out activities on photography and audiovisual and the Geographic Information System (GIS) for territorial or environmental planning and planning, such as control and monitoring of deforestation, forest fires, among others, handled with drones.

"Photography reminds a lot of memories, but it is very good to be able to teach a little of what I know, and thus also learn, we show some old photos of the training center, some techniques, they got the hang of it quickly, and people being part of the CIR advisory, it is important to show them this work, as well as the importance not only of photography but of communication in general, explained Caique Souza, from the Wapichana people, one of the members of Ascom/CIR, who taught at the meeting.

The young leader and also advisor to the center, Raquel Wapichana, said she feels honored to be part of the strengthening. "This year, the Indigenous Youth Center of the CIR was able to carry out this activity at CIFCRSS and I feel happy and honored to be part of this history, with young people who also have the same dreams as ours."

She said that the most interesting thing about this work is that these young people are not only training to be technicians, but also to act as leaders. "From these workshops, the idea is to give opportunity to the students of the center, bringing broad knowledge about what the bases are doing in their Communities and Regions, and also awaken in them the strength of courage and struggle of our Leaders", added the advisor of the Indigenous Youth Center, Raquel Viana.

One of the students who participated was Caio Oliveira, from the Patamona people. He said that the workshop came to strengthen them and he feels grateful. "I felt strengthened and encouraged. I want to thank the teachers who came, Davison Bucle, Kelliane Wapichana, Jéssica Maria, Márcia Fernandes, Caíque Sousa, Emily Costa and Genisvan André. I want to say that dreams are not impossible. I feel honored to have acquired this knowledge here at the Center, it is knowledge that I would certainly not acquire abroad", said Caio.

The second stage of the workshops will be held in June on Environmental rights and mental health with the Legal Department and Psychology, and Malocão policy, with the executive coordination of the CIR and traditional leaders. The workshops are held in partnership with the International Institute of Education of Brazil (IEB) and PACT.
