On the agenda of this Thursday, 7, of the II Extended Meeting, the leaders and councilors discussed sustainable autonomy, implementation of the Territorial and Environmental Management Plan for Indigenous Lands (PGTAs) and the Jamaxim Indigenous Fund – "Rutu".
The table was attended by the director of Nia Tero in Brazil, Francinara Baré, and the senior director of Nia Tero in the Amazon, Daniela Lerda, in addition to representatives of public institutions, the coordinator of Funai, Marizete de Souza, the superintendent of the National Supply Company (Conab), Janderson Maus and the representative of the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA), Nonato Lopes.
The coordinator of Funai, Marizete Macuxi, stressed that the goal of the agency is to strengthen regional projects. She said that for next year the fish farming project will be implemented.
The organization Nia Tero, a partner of the Indigenous Council of Roraima (CIR), since 2019, supporting indigenous peoples with projects, was present. The organization's director in Brazil, Francinara Baré, explained about coming to Ampliada.
"We came to talk about this partnership that supports the construction of the PGTAS, which brings the good living of indigenous peoples, we also came to listen to you, to add and complement actions with other partners, whether in the area of communication, sustainability, legal and good living", said Baré.
On the occasion, he clarified the performance of the Program, which works in the defense of rights, whether in the part of culture, sustainability, demarcation, youth, children and women, mobilizations, and also in the strengthening of indigenous organizations.
Daniela Lerda explained that Niatero means "Our Land" in the Esperanto language, an indigenous language of Europe.
Our Earth, because we believe that we have to work together to hold the sky", he clarified.
The representatives of the MDA AND CONAB, Janderson Maués and Nonato Lopes, stated that the institutions have their doors open to receive the leaders, supporting the projects, productions and the flow of indigenous productions.
For next year, the MDA's goal is to meet the demands of indigenous communities," Lopes said.
The leaders listened carefully and also presented their demands, including support to create a seal to sell productions, strengthening and expansion of existing projects in the regions, support to strengthen the training center, among others.
The general coordinator of the CIR, Edinho Batista, spoke about the moment experienced by the regions. He thanked the participation of the institutions, especially Nia Terus, which has been with the indigenous peoples in the struggle and resistance for original rights.
