The Tuxaua of the Boqueirão Community in the Tabaio Region, Alexandre Apolinario, spoke a little about the meeting and the importance of exchanging experiences:

"By participating in the ten-year seminar of PNGATI we were taking stock of the implementations and proposals for the future, and what happened during these ten years. Also bringing our experience from the state of Roraima, it is very important to bring here our demands, of how we want the national policy for territorial and environmental management of indigenous lands to work from now on at the national level.

So we were there to follow, and discuss these three days. We will have an important agenda. Which is the issue of the law that is being discussed in the Federal Chamber through Deputy Joênia Wapichana. This participation is very important, to show, and bring our experiences of how the Indigenous Council of Roraima has worked with our communities.

The indigenous land, Boqueirão, has its territorial and environmental management plan - PGTA, working with our indigenous communities." said the leader.

Valdélia Silva, coordinator of women in the Murupu region, Serra da Moça indigenous land, quoted:

"Participating in the event is very important. The ten-year Seminar of PNGATI for the first time was the opportunity to learn more about the public policy elaborated from the struggles and demands of indigenous peoples. I will take this knowledge forward to the leaders of the communities in the region."

Tomorrow, June 9th, a Public Hearing will be held in the Chamber of Deputies in Brasilia, which will also serve to deliver the final document of the seminar signed by the more than 50 organizations present, the hearing will debate PL 4347/2021, which aims to make PNGATI law, the PL is authored by Deputy Joênia Wapichana.
