II Free Land Camp in Roraima brings together a thousand people

On Tuesday (24), the ll Free Land Camp (ATL) began in Roraima with the theme "Fight for Life". The mobilization takes place in the communities of Sabiá (BR-174) and Jabuti (BR-401). The act is organized by the Indigenous Movement of Roraima and brings together a thousand people in both locations.

The objective is to reflect on the constitutional rights already conquered, and to join forces in the face of so many threats, such as the vote on the Temporal Milestone thesis in the Xokleng case, scheduled to take place at the Federal Supreme Court (STF) this Wednesday (25) in Brasilia.

In addition, the peoples also denounce the anti-indigenous projects in progress in the National Congress and the worsening of violence against indigenous peoples inside and outside traditional territories.

One of the traditional leaders participating in the mobilization highlighted the importance of the II ATL Fight for Life.

"We are here in this mobilization of the indigenous population in favor of the struggle for life and for our rights that are being violated by the National Congress, by the Federal Government. So we are here in defense of our life, that is our goal. To show that we are not going to be frightened by everything that is happening," said the leader.
