"Indigenous peoples are prepared, and are vigilant for these debates, more than ever we have sought to fill these spaces, because we know the impact that climate change has in relation to our good living, in relation to our territories. But one of the first steps is the issue of guaranteeing territories, the Indigenous Council of Roraima, which has been fighting for 50 years to defend the rights of indigenous peoples, one of their main rights is the territory. It is indisputable that indigenous peoples have collaborated with the issue of climate change, and that spaces like this, not only the COP, we are prepared to dialogue, so that we can get our spaces, the CIR has sought to prepare territorial and environmental management plans. When we talk about accessing funds, there is a lot of talk about the carbon market, and people talk about the environmental issue, but they forget that in these biomes there are people, and these people are seeking their best life." Said Jessica Maria.
