In order to strengthen the actions that indigenous communities develop in Roraima through the Territorial Protection and Surveillance Group (GPVITI), the Indigenous Council of Roraima (CIR), through its Legal Department, carried out on September 22 and 23, the delivery of support materials to the regional coordinators of the Raposa Serra do Sol Indigenous Land.
In addition to two motorcycles, office supplies (02 printers, 02 notebooks), communication material (radio communicator, 02 cameras and 02 cell phones) were delivered. The deliveries were made to the local coordinators of each region and to the GPVIT coordinators by the general coordinator of the CIR, Edinho Batista, and the legal advisor Junior Nicacio.
The general coordinator of GPVIT, Kleber Alves, said that the materials will strengthen territorial monitoring in the TI, which has been suffering from the advance of illegal mining. "The material, especially the motorcycle, will help us in the fight against miners within the regions, cattle theft as well, and will help the coordinators and tuxauas in monitoring the TI," said the leader.

Percivanio Souza, coordinator of the Raposa region, also thanked for the support. "The equipment will strengthen our work in the region, and the GPVITI of the Raposa region comes to thank and say that we will be using everything that has come to us in the best way," he said.
The project is part of the actions of the CIR's legal department, through the Territorial Monitoring and Surveillance program, which aims to strengthen the actions that the communities themselves develop through GPVITI. The initiative is supported by Niatero.
