The Seminar was held from October 11 to 12 by the Department of Territorial and Environmental Management (DGTA), of the Indigenous Council of Roraima (CIR), in the Araçá Indigenous Community, Amajari region, in the Coordination of Sineia do Vale and team, with representatives, Leia Rodrigues, UNICEF and Andreia Fanzeres, Native Amazon Operation - OPAN.

The objective of the activity is to ascertain the vision of leaders in the face of constant climate change, with reports on the interrelationships with forests, time and space, based on the principle of the cosmological perspectives of indigenous peoples, and how these changes affect them directly.

In addition to this conversation, analyses of losses and damage in the T.Is were also carried out, and a reflection was made on production activities with possible impacts on indigenous communities, and around them, in a general context what indigenous leaders understand and feel in the face of climate change.

Sineia do Vale, from the Wapichana People, is the Coordinator of the DGTA, has more than 20 years of experience in activities within the climate field with indigenous peoples, in addition to international contributions, such as the International Climate Summit and COP 28, and spoke about the main objective of the seminar on indigenous communities.

"Outside Brazil, the role of indigenous lands in climate regulation is widely discussed and recognized, but there are still many challenges for resources to contribute to indigenous lands effectively, for the work to guarantee the rights of these peoples, I consider that what is happening here, in this seminar in this training, which takes place in Roraima needs to be better discussed and better known by the rest of the country, everyone is to be congratulated."
